Flooded fields
Does not rain for about 42 days and then once again the skies have opened up. Couple of months ago we got a record rain fall and here it is again.

Everything is wet. I do not think there is a dry spot anywhere. All the loafing sheds are flooded. I have had to put the animals in stalls in the stable to keep them all dry. I tried to dig a trench around one of the sheds tonight but it was still too wet.

We are getting hit with a Low from California and also Hurricane Patricia, which is supposed to be the strongest hurricane in the northern hemisphere in history.

I am going to have a major clean up problem in the fields. They are all flooded and the damn on the large stock tank is once again on the brink of collapse.
Flash flood damage to train (from CBSDFW.com)
The rain came down so hard and so fast in Navarro county that it literally caught everyone. Weatherman said we would get rain - that was true. Said we would get a total of about 3" over the 3 day period - MISSED THAT ONE!!
I45 and Exit off of I45
I 45 was closed for a longtime at night - about 12 hours. This is one of the exists off of I45, Business 45. Unless you knew the back way through the country there was no way you were getting past this section and on to Houston.

One of the back ways, FM1126, was closed when a levee broke and flooded the road. On both sides of the levee was farm land where they grew cotton and soybeans. All of that was flooded and the good top soil moved to another location
